HOST ORGANISATIONS

Staf

Staf, Scotland’s membership organisation for all those involved with supporting young people leaving care, is the lead partner within the National Leadership Network, supporting the NLN team deliver the project and with a specific focus on co-production, voice and influencing policy. Staf currently engages with its membership by enabling peer support and practice development opportunities for practitioners, senior managers, and corporate parents to participate in various learning and development forums. This practice wisdom will be shared within the NLN, and these forums will also provide opportunities to share learning which can influence change. Staf has existing participation work which will be beneficial to support the NLN and be able to offer young people opportunities to become involved and benefit from this work. As secretariat of the Cross-Party Group on Care Leavers, and additional political networks, we can support the NLN to influence policy change and ensure the voices of young people with care experience are heard and acted upon.

Who Cares? Scotland

Who Cares? Scotland is Scotland's only national independent membership organisation for Care Experienced people. Through our membership of over 4,000, we will help increase the reach of the National Leadership Network (NLN). Our strategic vision is to secure a lifetime of equality, respect and love for all Care Experienced people in Scotland.

At the heart of our work are the rights of Care Experienced people and the power their voices have to bring about change. We bring Care Experienced people together, invest in them, and support them to elevate their collective voice. We can support and empower individuals to develop as representatives who can speak on behalf of the Care Experienced community.

Columba 1400

As a collaborative partner of the National Leadership Network (NLN), Columba 1400 will support YPCE on their own leadership journey and encourage them to recognise their leadership skills, abilities, and potential.

Columba 1400 is an award-winning charity and social enterprise based in Scotland. Through their Young People’s Leadership Academies, they provide YPCE with a safe space to discover their values, helping them to make positive personal, career and life choices – and giving them equal opportunities for a bright, fulfilling future whatever their circumstances.

Since 2000, more than 12,000 young people and their key adults have taken part in Columba 1400’s leadership academies, which have often proved to be an important turning point in their lives.

CYCJ

CYCJ’s unique contribution to the NLN is the links we have with various people at each stage of the justice system.  Our work includes developing policy, contributing to discussions on changes to the justice systems and considering legislation.  We also work directly with people who deliver services, including social work, police, secure care and residential staff.  Our work is increasingly influenced by the views of children and young people who have experience of being in conflict with the law, and our membership of NLN provides opportunities for children and young people to take up leadership roles alongside us.  By using our existing relationships and positions within the youth justice sector we can facilitate opportunities for young leaders to influence decision making and to change things.

Resilience Learning Partnership (RLP)

Resilience Learning Partnership (RLP) is excited to be a partner organization in the National Leadership Network. RLP can offer support and opportunities to anyone 18+ within the NLN, these include our Trauma Informed Education and Recruitment (TIER) Pathway and Peer Spaces.
